Halloween Alley and Horror in the Hammer present the 7th annual Hamilton Zombie Walk and Charity Food Drive. Participants, dressed as zombies, will be gathering at Gore Park beginning at 12:00pm. Each “zombie” is asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food items in support of the Hamilton Dream Center.
At approximately 1:00pm, the assembled hoard of zombies will shamble from Gore Park to Victoria Park, along the way winding through James St. N., King St. W., Queen St., and Locke St. S. The walk is a family-friendly Halloween-themed event that draws hundreds of people of all ages. The Hamilton Zombie Walk is also a big attraction for photographers along the route. Last year, organizer Aaron Allen married his wife Tina Hall in full zombie makeup, attracting both local and international media attention.
This walk is completely free of charge to the public. Following the walk, The Staircase Café and Theatre (27 Dundurn St. North) will be hosting the Official Hamilton Zombie Walk After-Party for a night of raffles, prizes, and live music. Our after-party also includes the first annual HAMILTONZOMBIE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL and a screening of the locally-produced zombie comedy DEAD BEFORE DAWN 3D, which was shot in Niagara Falls. Both screenings require a separate ticket.
This year, Halloween Alley has stepped up as our exclusive presentation partner. Halloween Alley is Canada’s largest independently-owned retailer of Halloween costumes, accessories, décor, props and more. This year Halloween Alley has 22 locations Canada-wide, including a brand new Hamilton location (847 Barton Street, East).
The Hamilton Zombie Walk has also partnered with the Hamilton Public Library to offer a free Zombification Makeup Station at the central branch of the HPL between 10am and 12:30pm on Saturday, October 19th.
Organizer Aaron Allen is available for phone and email interviews.
